I didnt completely understand if she was actually a witch or suffering from a mental breakdown due to her mothers suicide, not being financially stable, her living situation, being confused about her sexuality, and having to move back to Europe. The movie at first made it seem like she actually had powers. But, towards the end. you can clearly tell she was having a mental breakdown. So, I dont know about that. As for the movie itself, low budget, but the storyline was good. I really liked the song she played at the very end. As for the acting, it felt forced and awkward at times. But, to be honest. thats how people actually talk. People dont talk like they do in the movies. Also, you have to consider that one was raised in the States and another, Im assuming was raised in Europe. So, thats another reason why the conversations seemed off. Overall, good move. I just wish the direction was more solidified. Was she a witch? Was she mentally ill? Was it both? To be honest, I dont even know why they added the witch part. They could have made the movie with everything else that was going on. Her sexuality, her moms suicide, moving back to Europe. all that would have made enough of a good movie, without the witch part.
